The three-day UAE outreach generated investment intents worth about ₹2.43 lakh crore, with a projected employment potential of around 6.18 lakh jobs. The programme included meetings with investors, industry leaders and institutions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

IT and ITES, logistics, food processing, metals, infrastructure, chemicals and other sectors were among the areas discussed, strengthening Odisha's pitch as an investment destination.

Five young orangutans were rescued from the Bichitrapur casuarina forest area in Balasore and later shifted to Nandankanan Zoological Park for quarantine and veterinary observation. Since orangutans are not native to India, authorities began investigating how the animals reached Odisha.

The unusual discovery also raised concerns about possible wildlife trafficking. Forest officials and investigative agencies have been examining leads surrounding the animals' unexplained arrival.

Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2026କୁ ନେଇ ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ରାଜନୈତିକ ବିବାଦ ତୀବ୍ର ହୋଇଥିଲା। ସେପ୍ଟେମ୍ବର ୯ରେ BJD ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱରର ଲୋକ ଭବନ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଧାରଣା ଦେଇ ଆଇନକୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାହାର କରିବାକୁ ଦାବି କରିଥିଲା।

The BJD intensified its opposition to the MMDR Amendment Act, 2026, staging a protest outside Lok Bhavan and submitting a memorandum through the Governor to seek intervention from President Droupadi Murmu.

The party argued that the amendment could affect Odisha's financial interests and rights relating to mineral resources. It also renewed its demand for a special session of the Odisha Assembly to discuss the issue.

ନୂଆଖାଇ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ସରକାର CM-KISAN ଯୋଜନାର ପଞ୍ଚମ କିସ୍ତି ଭାବେ ୪୧ ଲକ୍ଷରୁ ଅଧିକ କୃଷକ ପରିବାରଙ୍କ ଖାତାକୁ ₹୮୩୩ କୋଟିରୁ ଅଧିକ ଟଙ୍କା DBT ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ପଠାଇଥିଲେ। ସେପ୍ଟେମ୍ବର ୪ରେ ଏହି ରାଶି ହସ୍ତାନ୍ତର ହୋଇଥିଲା।

The Odisha government transferred more than ₹833 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 41 lakh farmer families as the fifth instalment of CM-KISAN. The payment was made through DBT on 4 September.

The government said the assistance would help farmers meet agricultural input requirements for the upcoming Rabi crop and strengthen financial support for farming families.

ସେପ୍ଟେମ୍ବର ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ସପ୍ତାହରେ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଅନେକ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଭାରୀରୁ ଅତିଭାରୀ ବର୍ଷା ଜାରି ରହିଥିଲା। ନିମ୍ନଚାପ ପ୍ରଭାବରେ ଉତ୍ତର ଓ ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଅନେକ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପାଇଁ IMD ଭିନ୍ନ ଦିନରେ Orange ଓ Yellow Warning ଜାରି କରିଥିଲା।

Several parts of Odisha experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall during the second week of September. The IMD issued Orange and Yellow warnings for multiple districts, with forecasts also covering thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.

Authorities advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms and to avoid vulnerable areas, waterlogged roads and exposed locations during lightning activity.

ଓଡ଼ିଶା Vigilance ସେପ୍ଟେମ୍ବର ୧୧ରେ ST & SC Development Departmentର ଦୁଇଜଣ ଅଡିଟରଙ୍କୁ ବାରିପଦାରେ ଅଟକାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ₹୧୪.୩୮ ଲକ୍ଷରୁ ଅଧିକ ସନ୍ଦେହଜନକ ନଗଦ ଟଙ୍କା ଜବତ କରିଥିଲା। ଘଟଣାରେ ଦୁର୍ନୀତି ଅଭିଯୋଗ ନେଇ ତଦନ୍ତ ଜାରି ରହିଛି।

Odisha Vigilance arrested two auditors of the ST & SC Development Department after intercepting them in Baripada and recovering suspected ill-gotten cash amounting to more than ₹14.38 lakh.

Vigilance said the action followed inputs regarding alleged collection of money from authorities of schools and hostels. Searches and investigation were initiated as the agency examined the source of the seized funds.

The Panama-flagged bulk carrier MV Ocean Winner sank in the Bay of Bengal after departing from Paradip. Two of its 24 crew members were rescued from liferafts, while the search for the remaining 22 was eventually called off.

The incident highlighted the challenges of maritime search-and-rescue operations in the Bay of Bengal and renewed attention on the safety of vessels operating from the Odisha coast.
